Papa and Grandma Wascom

This is a 2009 picture of Papa and Grandma Wascom. Papa departed this earth last May 2010. Papa and Grandma have been a real blessing in our lives through the years. Grandma is feeble, now 89. She would appreciate your prayer.
(I added the upper 2 pics 12-15-2011. Grandma passed away this month.)

We are attended daily by God's blessings and mercy...

We are attended daily by God's blessings and mercy, of which we do not deserve.

What is man, that thou art mindful of him?

But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.

The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved

In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Some thoughts in scripture.

Verse of the day at Bible Gateway

"Then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”” - Acts 4:10,12

Books I am Reading currently

Right now I am reading the ESV New Testament, and the book by EE Byrum Travels and Experiences. Both are very good. EE Byrum's book is very long and very full of good info, from accounts of miracles and God's power in his life, to accounts of his travels, to his study of Greek Bible manuscripts, quotes from early church Fathers and historians of the time, etc. Very good. The ESV is a very good Bible Translation, I think, as are many other Ttanslations. Others I really like are the ASV, NASB, Amplified, RSV, etc. It is wonderful to have so many different translations for studying God's word, but even one of them would be so much better than none, as was the case for many hundreds of years in Europe.

Some thoughts.
