Songs I like

I am going to post the words to a few songs I like:

Song #1,

I don't know about tomorrow;
I just live from day to day.
I don't borrow from its sunshine
For its skies may turn to grey.
I don't worry o'er the future,
For I know what Jesus said.
And today I'll walk beside Him,
For He knows what lies ahead.

Many things about tomorrow
I don't seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand.

Every step is getting brighter
As the golden stairs I climb;
Every burden's getting lighter,
Every cloud is silver-lined.
There the sun is always shining,
There no tear will dim the eye;
At the ending of the rainbow
Where the mountains touch the sky.

I don't know about tomorrow;
It may bring me poverty.
But the one who feeds the sparrow,
Is the one who stands by me.
And the path that is my portion
May be through the flame or flood;
But His presence goes before me
And I'm covered with His blood.

Song #2,

In a world filled with vi’lence and hatred,
Everywhere wars and turmoil we see;
God’s people face daily this struggle;
Only love will keep us free.

Refrain:
We need each other, brethren!
For only love will carry us through;
Let us stand by each other, brethren;
Take courage, be faithful and true.
---
Oh, how sad to see some of our brethren,
As they strive for earth’s pleasure and gold,
Become selfish and strive with each other;
Love and kindness has quickly grown cold.
----
Lord, give us true warmth and affection;
When one fails, help us rescue his soul;
“He’s not heavy, for he is my brother,”
Let us cry as we carry his load.
----
Dear saints, let us vow to each other,
“I will help, I will comfort and pray;
I will stand by your side and defend you
In this battle you’re facing today.”

Song #3,

HE GAVE ME SOMETHING WORTH LIVING FOR

Life was shattered and hope was gone,
Crushing was the load that I bore;
Then out of the depths I cried, "Oh God,
Give me something worth living for."

chorus-
Something more than my yesterdays,
More than I had before;
Something more than wealth or fame,
He gave me something worth living for.

Then with life at its lowest ebb,
Who could heal and restore?
Then He came and mended my broken heart,
He gave me something worth living for.

O the joy of sins forgiv'n--
Nothing's the same as before;
My life overflows since Jessus came
And gave me something worth living for.

Song #4,

CHORUS
Jesus is still the answer
And though time and ages roll
Jesus is still the answer
He's the answer for your soul
And though some may say
He doesn't fit with their philosophy
I know Jesus is still the answer
He's always been and always will be

VERSE 1
Some men try so hard to prove
That God's not really real
While others say they know for sure
His love you can not feel
But I know He's real within my soul
For one day He cleansed and made me whole
And Jesus is still the answer
For that longing deep in your soul

VERSE 2
Some men pretend that things of this world
Have brought them peace of mind
But with the dawn of each new day
New thrills they try to find
Not until they meet the Prince of Peace
Can they ever hope to find relief
For Jesus is still the answer
For a world that's seeking for peace

Song #5,

I'm Still Amazed

I've never got over that I am not under the bondage of sin anymore
I'm still amazing that Jesus would pay a debt I could not afford
I've never got past that I'm free at last from sin that made me a slave
and I still feel as much as when He first touched me, oh yes I'm still amazed

I'm amazed to know how far God would go to set a lost man free
and I'm still in awe that He gave it all for an old sinner like me
I've never got over that this King would shoulder my sin in all it's disgrace
Calvary's hill still gives me a thrill..... oh yes I'm still amazed

I'm amazed this stranger would accept a manger in trade for a Kingly throne
and I'm still at a loss why he'd take the cross instead of a street of pure gold
He's the only King who gave everything in exchange for a cold dark grave
and I still love to ponder this God given wonder, oh yes I'm still amazed

I'm amazed to know how far God would go to set a lost man free
and I'm still in awe that He gave it all for an old sinner like me
I've never got over that this King would shoulder my sin in all it's disgrace
Calvary's hill still gives me a thrill..... oh yes I'm still amazed

I've never got over that this King would shoulder my sin in all it's disgrace
Calvary's hill still gives me a thrill..... oh yes I'm still amazed

Song #6,
"I will give you Freedom"

Afraid to make mistakes, afraid to look ahead.
The fears and worries of my heart seem heavier each day.
But I've found I must let go
and trust the heart Who loves me so.
Father up in heaven, this is what I hear you say:

CHORUS
I will give you freedom, if you will only give me your fears.
I will give you freedom, and wipe away those tears.
It's time to face your future. Believe I'm by your side.
So lay down all your fears and let me see you fly.

---
The gripping chains of fear, have kept you far too long.
Robbing you from the one that you could really be.
The fears and worries keep you bound. You really cannot trust.
You've tried so hard and now give up.
Oh, listen to the Fathers plea:

Song #7,

He paid a debt He did not owe,
I owed a debt I could not pay,
I needed someone, to wash my sins away.
And now I sing a brand new song,
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
Christ Jesus paid a debt that I could never pay!

He paid that debt on Calvary,
To cleanse my soul and set me free.
I’m glad that Jesus, did ALL sins erase.
And now I sing a brand new song,
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
Christ Jesus paid a debt that I could never pay!

One day He’s coming back for me,
To live with Him eternally,
Won’t it be glory, to see him on that day.
I then will sing a brand new song,
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
Christ Jesus paid a debt that I could never pay!

Louisiana Update

Ok, I'm just posting to say we have had a good summer. Sorry I have not posted in a while. We have spent the summer in Louisiana working.

Some highlights of the summer:

I have been blessed to spend a good bit of time with Grandma Dickens and Grandma Wascom and other family and friends.

I have enjoyed attending Oak Grove church of God, and have been blessed by many things I have heard there, and by my friends hospitality.

I have greatly improved physically from where I was last spring, and actually can accomplish certain things. It is so easy to take health for granted.

I have enjoyed running the machines doing dirt work and clearing.

I feel I have gained ground spiritually in several areas, and am learning daily.(I have soo much to learn!)

I have been learning how to deal with some family issues...(I still have a long way to go here)

I was able to successfully raise some pickling cucumbers, though my very little garden was greatly neglected this summer...

I enjoyed a visit from some friends from CA who I had not seen in years. (If you read this, I say "Hi, yall are missed"...)

Ok, I am sure I am forgetting things, but there is a list of what I can think of. The song "Count your Blessings" comes to mind. I sometimes get to struggling with things and worrying about things and it is easy to forget the many blessings God has blessed us with. I need to learn to trust God more..., learn what it means "casting all your cares on Him, for He careth for you," and remember that, while I don't know about tommorrow, He holds tomorrow!

I am hoping to go to KS around the first of October and spend a month there+- to take care of some things there, and visit my sister, spend some time with her, and get to visit some of my friends there, including the friendly people at the Arlington church. I have really missed KS!

Ok, thanks for reading, and feel free to comment if you like.
