Is your all on the Altar?

You have longed for sweet peace,
And for faith to increase,
And have earnestly, fervently prayed;
But you cannot have rest,
Or be perfectly blest,
Until all on the altar is laid.
---
Refrain:
Is your all on the altar of sacrifice laid?
Your heart does the Spirit control?
You can only be blest,
And have peace and sweet rest,
As you yield Him your body and soul.

---
Would you walk with the Lord,
In the light of His word,
And have peace and contentment alway?
You must do His sweet will,
To be free from all ill,
On the altar your all you must lay.
---
Oh, we never can know
What the Lord will bestow
Of the blessings for which we have prayed,
Till our body and soul
He doth fully control,
And our all on the altar is laid.
---
Who can tell all the love
He will send from above,
And how happy our hearts will be made;
Of the fellowship sweet
We shall share at His feet,
When our all on the altar is laid.

Reflect Christ today

"I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good thing, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow human being let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again."

*This quote is often attributed to William Penn, but its actual source seems to have been another prominent Quaker, Stephen Grellet.

December Update

Two weeks ago I headed south from KS to LA. Rachael(my sister) and her 18 month old little boy rode down with me. Today they are headed for the airport to fly back to KS. We were able to visit a lot with friends and family. Here are some pictures:

Kansas highlights

Here are some highlights of my time here in KS, which is about to come to an end.

I have been blessed to spend some good time with and do things with and for my sister..., we went shopping together several times in Hutch and Pratt, etc..., and I played with the little boy a good bit.

Arlington church had a revival last week, with Ed Yoder from AR, and I was blessed to be able to attend every service, and really enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed my first good night of vball in several years, with the Arlington youth group.

I have enjoyed the fresh milk with cream from bro Freeman & sis Retha.

I experienced my first real big chicken slaughtering at Levi & Angie's farm.

And several great hunters have been up from LA during this time.........;) ;)

And so much more..., and I am looking forward to thanksgiving dinner Thursday with friends:)

On a sad note:
While here in KS, things are happening in LA, some life-changing.
Please pray for the uncle Gerald Averett family, and the Grandma Wascom family, as neither Uncle Gerald or Grandma will be here much longer...

Also, pray for me, as I plan to drive down there at the end of this week.

I am also disappointed that I am missing the Loranger, LA fall meeting going on this week that I did not plan to miss(a change of plans for dear Dad's sake).

But of course, I can not be 2 places at once, and am very thankful for all of God's wonderful blessings to unworthy little me.

You alone are my hearts desire

As the deer panteth for the water
so my soul longeth after thee
you alone are my hearts desire
and i long to worship thee

Chorus
You alone are my stength my shield
to you alone may my spirit yield
you alone are my hearts desire
and I long to worship thee

I want you more than gold or silver
only you can satisfy
you alone are the real joy giver
and the apple of my eye

You're my friend and you are my brother
even though you are a king
I love you more than any other
so much more than anything

I can trust Jesus!

I can trust Jesus, I can trust Jesus
He never once has failed to meet my needs
He is my strong tower, the strength in my weakest hour
I can trust Jesus, He takes care of me

You can here it sung very nicely here....
